Why I Joined The Advisory Board

After thirty years in the home healthcare industry, I’ve seen almost everything — but rarely technology that truly understands the people delivering the care.

I’ve spent my entire career in the acute and post-acute arena — leading operations, marketing, and organizational growth; co-founding companies; and helping teams deliver better care to families across the country. Through it all, I’ve witnessed both the power of human connection and the limits of our current systems.

So when I first learned about CareBestie, something clicked. This wasn’t just another automation tool — it was an idea built around conversation, the most human part of care.

The Human Side of Voice AI

Over the years, I’ve worked with countless innovations promising efficiency, but very few that offer empathy. What drew me to CareBestie was how their virtual assistant, Michael, brings both together.

Michael calls, listens, and engages with seniors — offering reminders, companionship, and subtle observation that can flag early signs of decline. Those insights flow seamlessly to care teams, empowering them to act before small issues become big ones.

It’s technology that makes care more human, not less — and that’s exactly what our industry needs.

Why I Said Yes

Having served in leadership roles across the partner sector of home health, co-founded ClinLogica, and advised care-tech companies through transformation, I’ve developed a deep filter for what truly works.

CareBestie stood out because it Addresses a critical gap in the care continuum — real-time connection between seniors, families, and care providers. It also frees staff to focus on meaningful interactions, helping reduce burnout. It Is built by founders who listen — Daniel and David have taken the time to understand agency workflows and the realities of home-based care.

The Challenge Ahead

Our workforce is shrinking, demand is growing, and expectations are higher than ever. We cannot meet the needs of tomorrow with the systems of yesterday.

That’s why I joined CareBestie — to help ensure we scale the right way: responsibly, compassionately, and with measurable impact on the lives of older adults and the professionals who care for them.

As an advisor, my focus is to guide CareBestie’s work with providers, payors, and community-based organizations — aligning innovation with operational reality.

A Personal Note

Care has always been about people — the voices, the stories, the moments between visits. What CareBestie is building reminds me why I entered this field in the first place: to make sure no one feels unseen or unheard.

For me, this isn’t just an advisory role. It’s a chance to help shape what the next era of home-based care looks like
